For small events with 25-50 guests, the bartenders typically require approximately 30 minutes to set up the bar. However, if you anticipate a larger number of guests or cocktails that involve numerous ingredients or require additional preparation time, it is advisable to allocate more time for the bartender’s setup. In such cases, it may be necessary to have an extra bartender to ensure prompt service and prevent extended waiting times for your guests. The initial setup process for the bartender involves arranging various items and may take up to one hour to complete.
For weddings, please note that the setup and breakdown of the bar will require a minimum of 3 hours. It is important to factor this timeframe into your event planning accordingly.
Determining the number of bartenders needed for your event relies on a few key factors, including the number of guests and the complexity of cocktail preparation. In the case of a traditional cocktail bar setup, a proficient bartender can effectively serve up to 50 guests without encountering any difficulties. However, it’s crucial to consider the unique requirements of your event to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
Bartenders and mixologists are both skilled in the art of creating and serving alcoholic beverages, but there are some key differences between the two professions.
Bartenders: The bartender prepares classic cocktails (Margarita, Mojito, Moscow Mule…) with the help of traditional bar tools. Bartender works fast, manage crowds and has good customer service.
Mixologists: prepares more elevated cocktails taking care of every measure of each ingredient, decoration and adding a personal touch to each cocktail. The mixologist uses more sophisticated tools in the preparation of each cocktail. Mixologist even prepares special garnishes for each cocktail. Mixologist can prepare cocktails with smoke, colorful and special flavors.
If you are looking for someone to prepare classic cocktails quickly and efficiently, then a bartender is a good option.
However, if you are looking for a unique and innovative cocktail experience, then a mixologist is a better choice.
